CardioPulmonary Services
Tests, treatments and services provided through this department relate to or involve the heart and lungs. Tests include:
  • EKG The electrocardiogram, or EKG, tests the heart’s electrical conduction system and provides a graphic record of the electrical impulses produced during each heartbeat.
  • Pulmonary Lab Technicians measure the patient’s lung capacity to determine if there are any lung diseases present.
  • Respiratory Therapy Under the direction of a physician, a trained staff member treats and cares for patients with breathing disorders.
  • Doppler This ultrasound-like test helps measure the blood flow to the patient’s arms and legs.
  • Echocardiography Echocardiography uses high frequency sound waves to create a “picture” of the heart in motion. This technique evaluates the heart’s size, interior structures, shape and movements.

Clinical Laboratory

  • CT Scans This piece of highly sophisticated equipment provides a three-dimensional cross section view of the body not possible with conventional X-rays.

Emergency Services
Saint Francis Hospital at Broken Arrow provides the city’s only physician-staffed Emergency Room, which cares for more than 1,300 patients a month and 15,000 patients annually. Rehabilitation Services
Outpatient rehabilitation services are offered at Saint Francis Hospital at Broken Arrow.
